Letter Sunday Font Review

It was a quiet Tuesday morning, and I found myself staring at a blank brand board, trying to figure out how to make a new café identity feel fresh. The client wanted something approachable, a little quirky, but still professional enough for a neighborhood spot. That’s when I reached for Letter Sunday—a bold handwritten font with a casual and friendly look. Its thick strokes and playful style made it stand out, and I knew it could be the perfect anchor for the project.

Letter Sunday for Logo Design and Brand Identity

Letter Sunday is a script handwritten font that brings a warm, personal vibe to any logo or brand system. I tested it on a logo draft for a local café, and it immediately gave the design a sense of authenticity. The thick strokes and soft curves made it feel like it had been written by hand, which added a human touch that digital fonts often lack. It worked well as a headline font, especially when paired with a clean sans serif for balance. But I also noticed that it wasn’t ideal for long text—its fluidity and flourishes can make it harder to read in smaller sizes or when used in body copy.

When I placed it on a packaging mockup, it felt right at home. The playful style matched the café’s aesthetic, and the font’s weight helped it stand out without overwhelming the design. It’s not a font you’d use for a high-end luxury brand, but for a cozy, community-focused space, it hit the mark perfectly.

Letter Sunday for Social Media Graphics and Web Headers

On social media, Letter Sunday really shines. I used it for an Instagram post promoting a seasonal menu, and the font’s personality popped against a simple background. It felt modern yet nostalgic, which was exactly what the café needed. In web design, it worked best as a hero header or a callout text. The font’s boldness made it easy to read from a distance, and its friendly style helped create a welcoming tone for visitors.

I also tried it on a business card, and it looked great. The thick strokes gave it a premium feel, and the overall shape kept it from looking too informal. However, I wouldn’t recommend using it for anything that requires a lot of small text—like footnotes or detailed descriptions. It’s more of a display font than a workhorse.

Letter Sunday for Packaging Design and Product Labels

When I applied Letter Sunday to a product label for a handmade soap line, it brought a sense of care and craftsmanship to the design. The font’s thick strokes and playful style complemented the organic, artisanal feel of the product. It didn’t overpower the label, and the spacing allowed other elements like logos and ingredient lists to breathe.

But I also noticed that in some cases, the font’s swashes and ligatures could be distracting if not used intentionally. For example, on a product box with a lot of visual elements, Letter Sunday might compete too much with the rest of the design. It’s best suited for projects where the typography is the main focus.

Letter Sunday for Editorial Design and Print Projects

In editorial design, Letter Sunday worked well as a headline or subheading. I used it for a magazine spread about local businesses, and it added a personal, conversational tone that fit the theme. It didn’t do as well in longer articles, where readability is key, but as a decorative element, it was effective.

For print projects like flyers and posters, it was a good choice when used sparingly. The font’s boldness made it easy to read from a distance, and its friendly style helped convey a sense of warmth and approachability. However, I would avoid using it in large blocks of text—especially in brochures or guides where clarity is important.

Letter Sunday for Handmade Shop Branding and Creative Studios

Letter Sunday is a great fit for handmade shops, creative studios, and independent brands that want to communicate a personal, authentic message. I used it in a branding project for a boutique that sells custom stationery, and it helped reinforce the idea of individuality and craftsmanship. The font’s thick strokes and playful style gave the brand a unique voice that stood out from more generic options.

It’s also a strong choice for creative studios looking to add a personal touch to their marketing materials. Whether it’s a website header, a social media banner, or a printed brochure, Letter Sunday adds a level of warmth that can’t be replicated with more rigid typefaces.
